Delete your data

You can remove everything we hold about you at any time. Here's how, what goes, and what doesn't.

Do it yourself — takes about ten seconds

  1. Sign in at Your Next Step.
  2. Select your initials in the top right to open your profile.
  3. Choose Delete my data, then confirm.

The deletion happens immediately. There is no waiting period and nothing is held in a recycle bin.

Or ask us to do it

If you can't sign in — you've lost access to the email address, or you used Facebook or Google and no longer have that account — email privacy@yournextstepai.com from any address you can reach, and tell us which account to remove.

We'll confirm within 5 working days and complete the deletion within 30 days, which is the limit set by GDPR and similar laws.

If you signed in with Facebook, you can also remove our access from Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites. That stops any further sharing, but it does not by itself delete what we already hold — use one of the two routes above for that.

What gets deleted

WhatWhat happens
Your activity results — every quiz run, with all your answersDeleted
Your Career ABCs document — resume, cover letter, interview notesDeleted
Your profile summary — matched categories, experience level, confidenceDeleted
Your reflections — every note you wrote and every option you tappedDeleted
Your email address, where you gave it to us for resultsDeleted
Usage records — that an activity was opened and finishedKept, with the link to you removed
Why we keep that last row. We count how many people start and finish each activity so we know which ones are worth building on. Once your identifier is stripped, those records contain no information about you — no answers, no results, no email, nothing that could be traced back. Keeping them lets us delete everything personal without losing the ability to tell whether the product works at all.

Your sign-in

Deleting your data leaves the sign-in itself in place, so you can start fresh straight away if you want to. If you'd rather the login was removed too, say so in your email and we'll delete the account entirely.

What we never had

We don't collect payment details, we don't ask for a date of birth or address, and we don't sell or share anything to advertisers. When you sign in with Google or Facebook we receive only your name and email address — nothing is ever posted on your behalf.

Other requests

The same address handles requests for a copy of your data, corrections, or any other question about how it's used: privacy@yournextstepai.com.
